The Toxic Avenger, winner of 'Best New Off- Broadway Musical' by both the Outer Critics Circle and BroadwayWorld's Theatre Fans, is on sale through February 21st, 2010. The Joe DiPietro/David Bryan penned musical is currently playing at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

The Toxic Avenger* star and American Idol finalist Diana DeGarmo will sing the National Anthem at the New Jersey Nets game tomorrow night, November 17th at 7:30PM.

You know you're in for a good one when there's a huge laugh before the first person on stage can even let out the third syllable of the show. But by the time the actors start growling to customers, 'There's no intermission!' and 'The show's eight hours long!' The Toxic Avenger has firmly established itself as one of the funniest musicals in town.

Last Wednesday night, some of the cast members from 'ROCK OF AGES' came uptown - 2 blocks! - to New World Stages for some HOT TOXIC LOVE - and got it when they visited THE TOXIC AVENGER, the award-winning musical starring another 'American Idol' finalist. After the show, both casts met onstage for the obligatory photo - or three.

Move over, Bloomberg; the mayoral race just got a whole lot tighter as Erin Leigh Peck takes on the role of Mayor Babs Belgoody, along with other memorable characters, in The Toxic Avenger, the Outer Critics' Circle 2009 pick for Best New Off-Broadway Musical. Peck will be playing the multiple roles currently played by Nancy Opel, who originated the roles in the world premiere production at George Street Playhouse, while Opel is on vacation. Peck has been understudying all female roles since the show began performances at New York's New World Stages (340 W. 50th St) in March of 2009.

Diana DeGarmo, Season 3 'American Idol' runner-up and Broadway vet has returned to the New York stage where, on Friday, August 14th, she assumed the role of Sarah, the sexy, blind librarian in The Toxic Avenger - named the 'Best New Off-Broadway Musical' by the Outer Critics Circle.

After a recent performance of the Off-Broadway hit The Toxic Avenger, celebrated comic actress Nancy Opel took some time out to pose for a very special 'Spotlight' feature for the BroadwayWorld.com cameras.

Following the August 3rd performance of The Toxic Avenger, legendary bass guitarist Tony Levin, best known for his work with progressive rock pioneers King Crimson and Peter Gabriel, as well as for his playing on hundreds of albums including Cher, Alice Cooper, John Lennon, Stevie Nicks and Lou Reed, paid a backstage visit to meet the cast and band. He posed for photos and even signed the bass guitar of Dan Grennes, the show's bass guitarist. Rock on!

Mr. Root, making his Off-Broadway debut, has assumed the role of White Dude, replacing original cast member Matthew Saldivar.
