Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) has announced its list of participating playwrights in the 2014 Emanuel Fried New Play Workshop (NPW). For 2014, the NPW will include Courtney Frances Fallon, Rosa Fernandez-Rivera, Joy Scime, Tracy Snyder, and Winifred Storms.

The NPW has traditionally accepted ten or more playwrights during each annual session. This year NPW Director Kyle LoConti and founder & Moderator Jon Elston decided to limit the number of participants to only five. Elston said this will allow the Workshop to "insure more comprehensive attention to each individual playwright's work"

Though only one of this year's playwrights - actress Rosa Fernandez-Rivera - has previously participated in the NPW, Elston praised each of them for their "literary and theatrical accomplishments".

Winifred Storms holds an MFA from Florida Atlantic University, is an Aisling Award and FAU Presidential Award winner for her writing, and has studied at Exter College (Oxford University). Actress and director Tracy Snyder is a Teaching Artist for Shakespeare In Delaware Park and Shea's Camp Broadway series. Joy Scime is a veteran of the WNY theatre community, an Artie Award nominee, and the winner of the American College Theatre Festival's Regional Playwriting Award, as well as being a Founder of Buffalo's Playback Theatre Company. Author/performer Courtney Frances Fallon's one-woman show You Know This Girl was a local hit during the Buffalo International Infringement Festival in both 2010 and 2011 and subsequently toured North America and Europe.

RLTP Ensemble member Donna Hoke - an Artie Award winner for her 2013 play Seeds, as well as the author of The Couple Next Door and organizer (with playwright Matthew Crehan Higgins) of Buffalo United Artists' annual BUATakes10 series of short plays - would also be using the NPW to develop a new full-length of her own and offering support to the other playwrights. "Donna's feedback is always highly valuable," Elston extolled.

Named in honor of Buffalo's playwright laureate, RLTP's Emanuel Fried New Play Workshop has supported the development of original dramatic works by local playwrights since 2005. Under the supervision of LoConti and Elston, playwrights provide peer support to one another during the composition and revision of their original plays over a nine month period. RLTP then presents readings of these new plays to the public, directed by and featuring some of WNY's finest theatrical talent. Audience members who attend these readings are invited to offer their constructive feedback-an integral component of each playwright's process.

Public readings of the plays developed in the 2014 NPW will begin in September 2014. Please visit www.roadlesstraveledproductions.org for more details and for a schedule.

Applications for the 2015 New Play Workshop will be accepted beginning December 1st, 2014. Only electronic submissions (via e-mail) will be accepted. For more information, please visit www.roadlesstraveledproductions.org, or contact Jon Elston at jelston@roadlesstraveledproductions.org .
