I absolutely adored this show and saw this production for the last time Friday evening. I was shocked by how many empty seats there were in the mezzanine.

Does anyone know if Michael Iskander departed the show early? He wasn't in Friday night, and he wasn't there today. He was still listed in the Playbill.

Hey Dottie! Did your colleagues enjoy the cake even though your cat decided to sit on it? ~GuyfromGermany

Jess Stone said in her curtain speech that he got another job that had a one week overlap. Other than him, the entire original off-Broadway case finished the Broadway run.

That was really special. Standing ovations for Victoria and Bonnie's entrances. I can't remember exactly where but Bonnie broke during a song and started crying and the audience just went wild for her until she could resume. I was really hoping Jeanine Tesori & David Lindsay-Abaire would come out at curtain call for bows but didn't expect 15 minutes of thank-you's. Just a really moving afternoon.

FLarnhill said: "We just had two in a row Best Musical winners (ASL, Kimmy) close. Keep telling me how the Tonys (or awards in general) are still meaningful? Especiallywhen Wicked's now old enough to drink."

Both are small ‘niche’ shows which do not have broad appeal, regardless of their quality.  Same was true of Fun Home and The Band’s Visit.  I expected Hadestown to be niche as well, but I was wrong.  Wicked is a fairly classic, big Broadway musical with memorable songs and with broad appeal.

I was there today, my first time seeing the show since last May. It was so nice to be there and bid farewell to a show that everyone in the audience loved just as much. I’m surprised everyone kept it together as much as they did, but once Bonnie broke during her reprise of “This Time,” everyone knew the end was nigh and you could hear audible crying throughout the rest of the show. “Great Adventure” is just about the perfect song for a show to go out on with the lyrics being especially poignant. What a beautiful show that I won’t soon forget.

During the speeches, they mentioned that Michael Iskander got a job that conflicted with the show’s run by a week.

Had the most amazing time this afternoon! The energy was INCREDIBLE. There was a TON of physical comedy improv. The cast was having such a good time. Victoria did a bit before Better where she zipped up Debra's sweatshirt after she was inappropriate to Seth as well as one involving leaning on a wall. There was also either a bit or a save when the string on Victoria's party hat broke and Allie gave her hers. Allie held the broken one on her head and posed for an extra picture with it.

Bonnie's aforementioned break and the resulting standing ovation was certainly a highlight and got everyone emotional for the last stretch. I was emotional, but held it together until Great Adventure. I lost it at the end though. I mean, if I was seeing the show for the first time and you told me that they'd rewritten some of the lyrics just for the closing, I'd wholeheartedly believe you. I mean, "We're crying because we're almost done. Time's flying, it's been a lovely run and so fun, so fun," what else could that be about besides closing a show? It totally got me and I was crying quite a bit.

The stage door was a wonderful time as well. So many friends, family members, and fans together celebrating the show and everyone involved with it. I got David Lindsay-Abaire, Jeanine Tesori, and Jessica Stone to sign my (already full-cast-signed) Playbill and had a lovely chat with Jeanine. I told her about how I did a community theatre production of Shrek with my Mom and sister and what a special experience that was. She shared how happy it makes her to hear about people loving and connecting with Shrek.

Side note, it has been a LONG time since I've been on 44th/45th between Times Square and 8th when there are this many shows starting at the same time. I believe Akimbo, Notebook, Outsiders, Elephants, Suffs, Lion King, Mother Play, and Neil Diamond all had 3 pm performances. It was definitely a bit of a madhouse getting in. But, it was nice to see so many people coming out for a show on a Sunday afternoon.
