In the early 1990s Paul Vogel wrote a beautiful play called The Baltimore Waltz, it was semi autobiographical about her brother's death from AIDS. I have not seen Mother Play yet but it sounds like there may be some crossover in the subject matter? For those familiar with both plays are they connected in anyway? Are we given the same information in both shows? Baltimore Waltz was heartbreaking to sit through, I'm not sure I could do it again.
the focus is very much on mom, primarily and Martha, secondarily. I liked it a lot - and was moved - but not devastated.
Vogel has a book coming out titled Travels without Carl, although I can't find a release date.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
