Does anyone know where you can digitally purchase the soundtrack to the TV remake of BYE, BYE BIRDIE? The two songs I'm really looking for are the Opening Song and Put On A Happy Face.
The OBC is my go-to for Birdie, too. This was my first exposure to musical theatre, so it will always be one of my favorites. Rivera's vocals are slightly better on the London recording as she was sick when they recorded the OBC.
I like the 1995 TV soundtrack- it's not perfect, and it's full of big shoes to fill, but I rather like Jason Alexander as a musical theatre performer and wish he'd do more of it. (It's nice to hear an Albert vocally strong enough that he can sing the last line of "Talk to Me" himself instead of having a random ensemble guy sing it.) Marc Kudisch is a fantastic Birdie as well, channeling mid-60s Elvis instead of parodying late-50s Elvis.
Thank you everyone! I will try Amazon again, as I was not able to find it the last time I looked and I know I can't buy it on Itunes. Also, I am not looking for the entire album. I have it already, just in a different state in storage, and looking to purchase single song options only. The only two songs I need are the "Main Title" and "Put on a Happy Face".
