Ironically, I had just learned about the "Bechdel test" in a film history class and didn't make the connection until fairly recently...

The set is mostly the family's home. Fun Home can mean a whole lot of things, which it absolutely does in this show.

Very intrigued that they are doing this in the round. I wonder what motivated them to set the stage up like that. I’m sure they, obviously, know how they will adapt the staging, but I’m wondering, specifically, about two moments: First, one of my favorite moments was the big reveal of the house when Alison first brings Joan home and I wonder if there will be any way to replicate the awe that came with seeing the full space. Second is “Telephone Wire,” where I loved the stillness with Alison and Bruce just facing forward. The only way in which I can see them doing this without one side of the audience only seeing their backs the whole time is by having them on some sort of a turntable that is slowly spinning, but that seems like it could really take away from the number (for me).
Regardless, can’t wait to see this. Will be snatching up tickets for 2 nights when I visit NYC in June.

Posted: 12/8/14 at 11:00amI didn't get the chance to see Socha as Medium Allison and wasn't overly impressed with Skeggs. I know Socha left abruptly, any insight as to why she left (or was dismissed) and isn't joining the production on Broadway?

Thrilled to see almost all of the cast back – especially Sydney Lucas. She was marvelous in the role and I can’t wait to see her in it again. And, although I didn’t see her in it, I remember hearing great things about Emily Skeggs, so I’m excited to see her in the role, as well.
Just bought front-row tickets for one of the performances I will be attending. So excited!

Posted: 12/8/14 at 6:50pmBefore The River the other night, I was looking around thinking about Fun Home seating and, after my second time seeing in at the Public from much further back, it seemed like nearly any seat at Circle might be closer. And, based on the way they seem to be selling/holding for premium, it is probably similar to the River, where those seats in the rounded section, and off those front corners of the stage would be best.
