Why is this not getting more attention here in the states? It was the "hot topic" for a few weeks and now it's faded away in terms of coverage. We are letting history repeat itself. It is time to do something...
(CNN) -- "Chilling" leaflets warning Jews to register and document their property with the pro-Russian government that has claimed power in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk are "the real deal," the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine said Thursday.
Geoffrey Pyatt told CNN's "The Lead with Jake Tapper" that a respected Jewish leader in Ukraine showed him a photograph of one of the leaflets. It was not clear who was behind the flier, which warned Jews that they face deportation or loss of citizenship if they fail to register.
A statement from the Jewish community in Donetsk said they bore the signature of "People's Governor" Denis Pushilin, the head of the self-declared "People's Republic of Donetsk." But Pushilin denied any connection to the fliers, calling the incident a "clear provocation."
Honestly, I think people are so burned out by all the f**kery that has gone on in that bloody country that this should come as no surprise.

If I were an American Jew, I could be scared sh-tless. Remember it was to the Russians that Obama said, "I'll have more flexibility after my election." And remember Hillary Clinton's "reset" button? Didn't work so well did it?
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
More questions than answers here. But your headline may be misleading, Borstalboy.
The fliers clearly exist and were distributed. But one possibility is that they were fraudulently made up - by whom and for what purpose? to undermine the local pro-Russian government? to terrorize Jews? both? we can only guess - and distributed the pro-Russian Donetsk government had nothing to do with it.
If it sounds like I'm being an apologist for the Russians and their sympathizers, that is not my intention. I'm just reviewing the facts as they've been presented.
There is a clear indication by additional USA Today reporting (and others) that these are made/distributed by Pro-Russian radicals and extremists. But I don't think anyone is going so far as to flat out accuse the Russian government of this....yet.
Each side is accusing the other of fomenting anti-Semitism. The pro-Russian forces have been accusing the Ukrainians of anti-Semitism for weeks now. This may just be the Ukrainians turning the tables on them Russians.
I'm surprised that USA Today took this story at face value. It's already been denied by the pro-Russians who have been accused of distributing the flyer.
Yes, and we should believe the Pro-Russian groups on... what... good faith? When you overtake your local government and threaten others with violence, you lose that opportunity.
Basically, both sides hate the Jews and know that they can stir international sentiment by portraying the other side as the bigger bunch of Jew haters.
But history has shown that there is no difference between Russians and Ukrainians when it comes to protecting the safety of a Jewish minority.
The Anti-Defamation League has now questioned the authenticity of the flyers and called on both sides to stop "cynically and politically manipulating and exploiting anti-Semitism."
Of Obama and his Administration. I've given two examples already. But a third is Obama's rapidly deteriorating relationship with our friend Israel.
Call me a Zionist if you must, but I would trust Israel over any other country in the world today.

The government is out to get us ALLL, mysteriousgrowl. Didn't you get the memo?

"Are you saying the U.S. government is going to do something to American Jews?"
I'm saying I wouldn't put anything past this administration. Obama did attend a church for many years that preached anti-Semitism. I wouldn't put it past him to do the same thing that FDR did to the Japanese.

"All righty. I just wanted to be clear about what you were implying."
And what do you believe? (Bearing in mind that Obama has already trashed the Constitution more than once. Most notably by making changes to the Affordable Care Act without Congressional approval.)
