He's ALWAYS complaining about the film versions of his novels. Yet he keeps on selling the rights? I say, enjoy your money Mr. Ellis and shut your pie hole. Cry baby. FIFTY SHADES OF SELL-OUT.
I greatly enjoyed his more recent novel LUNAR PARK, but personally he seems to be turning into the Gen-X version of Elton John: A really embittered queen who is just not turned on by utilizing his own talent anymore and thus gets his kicks being mouthy and "controversial".
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

I'm kind of boggled anyone thinks there's some kind of artistic statement or integrity to be defended here in the first place. It's freaking 50 Shades of Grey. I think fanfic can be fantastic, literary even, but...this is not one of those instances.
What's mind-blowing to me about this whole non-issue is that the voices rooting for Matt Bomer to play this virile, sexual guy are coming from the MAINSTREAM. This was unthinkable when I was growing up.
And one of the voices that wants to pick it apart comes from the sexual fringes.
When I hear about women finding Bomer sexy long after he's out or hear straight women talk openly about how, for instance, they may find Peter Dinklage sexy, I can't help but wonder if the mainstream's sexual tastes and imaginations have moved far beyond the butch/buff/big dick ethos that gay culture seems to be stuck in.

perhaps after seeing Perez Hilton now all evolved and touchy-feely on 1 GIRL 5 GAYS, BEE feels his sting has a vacuum to fill.
Will: They don't give out awards for helping people be gay... unless you count the Tonys.
