Godspell and Agatha Christie's Towards Zero kick off the 2016 season for Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre, the longest continuously running summer theatre in Maryland. In residence at CCBC Essex, this community theatre has been mounting Broadway-quality productions for 44 years.

GODSPELL

Godspell (2012) offers a high-energy musical romp through the gospel of Saint Matthew. The cast includes Ryan Slattery (Mt. Airy, Md.) as Jesus and Jake Zeranko (Towson, Md.) as John the Baptist with Kevin Logan (Ellicott City, Md.) singing All Good Gifts, Josh Schoff (Dundalk, Md.) singing We beseech Thee, Allie McLoughlin (Baldwin, Md.) singing Day By Day, Nicole Smith (Towson, Md.) singing Learn Your Lessons, Alyssa Bell (Reisterstown, Md.) singing Bless The Lord, Anna Steuerman (Timonium, Md.) singing By My Side, Samantha Ross (Vienna, Va.) singing Turn Back, O Man, and Erin Sullivan (Edgewood, Md.) singing Light of the World.

Cockpit's production of GODSPELL runs June 10 through June 26 on the Mainstage in the College Community Center at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard. Performances will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, Fridays June 10, 17 and 24, and Saturdays June 11, 18 and 25, and at 3 p.m. on Sundays, June 12, 19 and 26. Single tickets are $22 general admission, $20 for seniors (60+) and $14 for children 12 years old and younger.

Godspell (2012) was conceived and originally directed by Jean-Michael Tebelak with music and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. Cockpit in Court's production is directed and choreographed by James Hunnicutt (Baltimore, Md.) Other production staff are Nathan Scavilla (Catonsville, Md.) musical director, Lisa Boeren (Rosedale, Md.) stage manager, Danielle Sten additional choreography, Jason Randolph (Baltimore, Md.) set design/scenic artist, Helen Garcia-Alton (Germantown, Md.) lighting designer, James Fasching (Baltimore, Md.) costume designer, John Mauler sound design and Albert Boeren (Rosedale, Md.) props master.

TOWARDS ZERO

According to legal minds, murder is not the beginning of a mystery but the end. Thus the title - Towards Zero. Agatha Christie's tale of murder at a remote seaside house party explores what brought these people with seemingly little in common together to cause such an end! The cast members are Chris Cahill (Aberdeen, Md.) as Thomas Royde, Randy Dalmas (Baltimore, Md.) as Neville Strange, Ryan Frank (Baltimore, Md.) as Inspector Leach, Toby Hessenauer (Baltimore, Md.) as Superintendent Battle, Stephanie Horvath (Baltimore, Md.) as Audrey Strange, Kristin Miller (Baltimore, Md.) as Kay Strange, Connor Moore (Towson, Md.) as P.C. Benson, Kelly Rardon (Reisterstown, Md.) as Mary Aldin, John Rowe (Perry Hall, Md.) as Mathew Treves, Andrew Wilkin (Parkville, Md.) as Ted Latimer and Suzanne Young (Timonium, Md.) as Lady Tressilian.

Cockpit's production of TOWARDS ZERO runs June 11 through June 26 in the Cabaret Theatre, Second Floor of the College Community Center at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard. Performances are 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Single tickets are $17 for general admission and $15 for seniors (60+). Not appropriate for children.

Production staff for this play are Joey Hellman (Baltimore, Md.) director, Marcy Petrick (Baltimore, Md.) stage manager, Michael Rasinski (Perry Hall, Md.) set design/scenic artist/lighting design, Eva Grove (Edgewood, Md.) costume coordinator and Jim Lefter (Bel Air, Md.) sound designer.

Cockpit in Court's season continues in July

· Court Jesters Young People's Theatre production of Disney's Mulan, Jr. (July 8 -17) in the Administration Building Lecture Hall

o NOTE: A special sensory-friendly performance will be given July 15 at 11 a.m.

· Monty Python's Spamalot (July 15 - 31) in the College Community Center Mainstage Theatre

· The Gazebo (July 16-31) in the College Community Center Cabaret Theatre
