Actors' Equity Association President Nick Wyman will be among the entertainment industry national presidents who will be honored at the National Labor College Gala Tuesday, August 2nd. The gala will be held at the Kirkland Center at the National Labor College in Silver Springs, Maryland.
Wyman will be honored for his strong support of building the labor movement through public policy and action as well as for the work he does on behalf of the Equity membership. Other honorees include Ray Hair, President, American Federation of Musicians; Ken Howard, President, Screen Actors' Guild; Matthew D. Loeb, President, International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts; and Roberta Reardon, President American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. Mark H. Ayers, President of the Building and Construction Trades and a member of the College's Board of Trustees, will also be honored for his ongoing commitment to education as key to building the labor movement.As Equity's President, Mr. Wyman represents more than 49,000 professional stage actors and stage managers. He has a long history of servIce To the Union, with more than 20 years experience as a National Councillor and eight (8) years as a Trustee for the Pension and Health Trust Funds. In addition, he has worked on nearly all of the contracts negotiated by Equity, and has served as the Deputy for all of the productions in which he appeared. He has served on four (4) Production Contract negotiation committees, as well as the National Public Policy, House Affairs, Strategic Alliance and Merger.Videos
