The Fun Company, Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) family theatre, is now enrolling students for its burgeoning summer camp for kids and teens, Fun Camp. Fun Camp's wildly popular and successful summer camps are an intense, yet fun filled experience for young performers. "Our theatre camp is an exciting two weeks that are jam packed with material designed to create strong, well rounded performers," said Fun Company's Artistic Director, Julie Herber. "We are always amazed at the work they accomplish in such a short amount of time. The difference in the campers from day one to the final day of camp is such a thrilling thing to witness and be a part of."

Depending on the session, campers spend the first week exploring exercises in acting, improvisation, voice, movement, theatrical design, song and dance. That is followed by a week of rehearsing for their final performance which is open to the public. Final performances are structured to reflect the individual participants of each session and are created based on their creativity, imaginations and unique characters. Regarding the weeks-long process, Herber said, " Rehearsing a show and honing the skills of the craft are two different experiences. It is important to us as artists that that the students get to go through both of those processes."

The Fun Camp is offering four different two-week sessions that will run between June 22 - August 14, 2015. All camps are held Monday through Friday from 10am to 3pm with final performances taking place on the last Friday of the session at 3pm. The first session of the camp will run from June 22 through July 3, the second from July 6 to July 17, the third from July 20 to July 31,and the final session from August 3 through August 14. All sessions are $380 with discounts available for additional family members or multiple camps.

The first and second sessions feature the Musical Theatre Project and will focus on acting, singing and dancing. In Session 1 the Musical Theatre Project will be open to ages 12-16 and Session II will be for ages 7-11. Session 1 and IV offer the Creating Theatre camp for ages 7-11, which offers the opportunity to learn about all the elements of a stage production. For ages 12 through 16 the Performance Project camp will be available in Session II. That camp focuses on the creation of original work and like all the camps will culminate in a performance on the MET Mainstage. Lastly Fun Camp will offer Improv Intensive for ages 12-16 in Session IV. Students taking this camp will use basic improv exercises, stand-up comedy techniques and scene work to learn how to write and create an original comedy show.

Accompanying Julie Herber will be fellow camp instructors Thom Huenger (MET Ensemble Member and Director of The Ensemble School Music Studio), Karli Cole (Ensemble School alumnus, Coastal Carolina/Accademie Dell'Arte), John Grimsley (Gettysburg College) and Matt Lee (Laugh Station creator/writer/director/actor, Ensemble School instructor).
