The Vagabond Players is happy to announce its historic 101st consecutive season for 2016-17.

The Vagabonds first opened in 1916 as a part of the Little Theatre Movement that was sweeping the country at the time. Whereas most of those theaters eventually closed or went dark for several seasons, The Vagabonds has produced a season for 101 consecutive years earning it the title: America's Oldest Continuously Operating Little Theatre.

The Vagabond Players 101st Season:

September 9 - October 2: ALL MY SONS by Arthur Miller, directed by Michael Byrne Zemarel.

The All-American dream of success is about to be shattered when questions arise regarding a successful businessman's role in a wartime manufacturing scandal that has sent his business partner to prison and led to hundreds of pilot fatalities. Miller's superbly constructed play exerts the hypnotic force of a first-rate thriller as the noose of truth slowly tightens on its tragic hero.

October 21 - November 20: AVENUE Q Music & Lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, Book by Jeff Whitty, directed by Eric C. Stein

Winner of the Tony "Triple Crown" for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, Avenue Q is part flesh, part felt, and packed with heart. Filled with laugh-out-loud humor and a delightfully catchy score, the show tells the timeless story of a recent college grad who moves to a surprising neighborhood where new found friends struggle to find jobs, dates and their ever elusive purpose in life.

January 6 - February 5: THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF AMERICA (abridged) by Adam Long, Reed Martin, and Austin Tichenor, directed by Howard Berkowitz

Who really discovered America? Why did Abe Lincoln free the slaves? How many Democrats does it take to screw in a lightbulb? From Washington to Watergate, from the Bering Straits to Baghdad, join us for a deliriously funny rollercoaster ride through 600 years of history in 6,000 seconds... History will never be the same!

February 24 - March 19: MOTHERHOOD OUT LOUD conceived by Susan R. Rose and Joan Stein, directed by Rikki Howie Lacewell.

When entrusting the subject of motherhood to such a dazzling collection of celebrated American writers, what results is a joyous, moving, hilarious, and altogether thrilling theatrical event. Utterly unpredictable, MOTHERHOOD OUT LOUD shatters traditional notions about parenthood, unveils its inherent comedy, and celebrates the deeply personal truths that span and unite generations.

April 7 - May 7: THE ODD COUPLE by Neil Simon, directed by Steve Goldklang

When neurotic neat-freak Felix Unger moves into sarcastic and sloppy Oscar Madison's shambles of an apartment, their clash of temperaments ignites an evening of comic fireworks. Grab a seat at Oscar's poker table and ante up for an avalanche of non-stop laughter in one of Simon's greatest comedies!

May 26 - June 25: SEE HOW THEY RUN by Phillip King, directed by Tyrone Chapman.

How do you shake things up in a conservative post-war English village? Place at its social center an unconventional American actress, marry her off to a the local vicar, then toss in a ditsy maid, a nosy spinster, an escaped German POW, a portly bishop---and then hold onto your hat when all hell breaks loose for an evening of misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and madcap farce.
