The best of Broadway is being presented free on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with '106.7 Lite fm Presents Broadway in Bryant Park 2010' - a lunchtime series which began on Thursday, July 8th at 12:30pm on the Bryant Park Stage. Sponsored by Bank of America, and JCPenney 33rd & 6th, and hosted by Lite fm's on-air personalities, the tenth annual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances runs through August 12th.

Jane Krakowski, the Tony Award winning Broadway star of Nine and Damn Yankees and the Emmy Award nominated star of '30 Rock' and 'Ally McBeal,' celebrated the release of her delightfully sexy debut album, The Laziest Gal In Town with an in-store CD signing and performance at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Center (1972 Broadway at 66th Street) yesterday July 13, 2010. The album, available through DRG Records, was captured last fall during her nightclub debut at the Park Avenue hotspot Feinstein's at Loews Regency. Last week, Jane was nominated for her second Emmy Award for her performance on '30 Rock.'

Last week, Dee Roscioli performed her cabaret debut, 'Decidedly Dee' as part of the Broadway at Birdland series. Fresh off her Broadway run as Elphaba in Wicked, Dee explored her un-green side with a mix of new songs and old favorites. In her cabaret debut, she performed songs penned by friends, including 'See' from David Austin, 'Reasons' by Bobby Cronin and 'Say Goodbye' by Scott Alan. Dee also sang more widely-known songs like 'Many the Miles' by Sara Bareilles, 'People Get Ready' by The Impressions and 'I Think it's Going to Rain Today' by Randy Newman. Last night, June 28, the 2nd Annual Jimmy Awards were held at the Marquis Theatre, home to COME FLY AWAY. Kathie Lee Gifford hosted and presenters included nine time Tony-winner Tommy Tune, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka of A Little Night Music, and Krysta Rodriguez and Adam Riegler of The Addams Family. On June 23, Broadway Impact hosted their inaugural show of their summer concert series at Joe's Pub, featuring the cast of Next to Normal. On board for the concert were Kyle Dean Massey, Jennifer Damiano, Adam Chanler- Berat, Jessica Phillips, Meghann Fahy and Brian Crum. The concert was hosted by Kate Shindle. On Monday, June 21, New York Musical Theatre Festival hosted their 'Best of Fest' Gala. The event celebrated NYMF alumni and introduced some of the new projects NYMF alums are working on now.

Yesterday, June 17, the Player's Club in Gramercy Park hosted Inside Broadway's 2010 Broadway Beacon Awards. Hosted by FOX5 New York's Julie Chang, the awards show honored Tony Award-winners Katie Finneran and Anthony LaPaglia, the current stars of Billy Elliot on Broadway, Harry Coghlan (President and General Manager of Clear Channel Outdoor's New York and Spectacolor Divisions), and Nicholas & Lence Communications CEO (and former NYC & Company Director) Cristyne Nicholas. Presenters for the evening included New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Broadway actor Brooks Ashmanskas, and Broadway Casting Director Nora Brennan. Last night, June 13, the 64th Annual Tony Awards were held at Radio City Music Hall. Hosted by PROMISES, PROMISES star Sean Hayes and Broadcast on CBS, the evening honored movie stars (Catherine Zeta-Jones, Denzel Washington, Viola Davis, Scarlett Johansson), industry vets (Katie Finneran, Michael Grandage), Broadway newcomers (Eddie Redmayne, David Bryan, Douglas Hodge) and more, including FELA!'s own director/choreographer, Bill T. Jones and costume designer Marina Draghici.

The Tony-nominated Best Play NEXT FALL, presented by Elton John & David Furnish, written by Geoffrey Nauffts and directed by Tony nominee Sheryl Kaller, celebrated 100 performances on Broadway last night, June 8. NEXT FALL is currently playing on Broadway at the Helen Hayes Theatre.

Amid an electrifying evening of dance by the greatest talents of Broadway and film, the 2010 Fred & Adele Astaire Award winners were announced at the 28th annual awards ceremony at the Gerald W. Lynch at John Jay College. The Douglas Watt Lifetime Achievement Award named for the late esteemed critic and co-founder of the Awards was presented to the legendary director and choreographer Kenny Ortega by Grammy winner Roberta Flack. Host for the evening was Ben Vereen.

Yesterday evening, June 7, cast members from ROCK OF AGES performed songs from their Tony nominated musical outside The Hard Rock Cafe as part of the 17th annual 'Taste Of Times Square' event sponsored by the Times Square Alliance. BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture the performance.

John Tartaglia and the Imaginocean cast appeared at Books Of Wonder on May 29. At the event Tartaglia read a 'fish story' and showed video clips from Imaginocean. There was also be games and a puppet performance.

Some of the best new shows on Broadway put on special performance for visiting members of the armed forces who are in New York City for Fleet Week on today May 28th from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum at Pier 86.

Love, Loss, and What I Wore welcomed it's newest cast members: Sherri Shepherd ('The View'), Cobie Smulders ('How I Met Your Mother') Penny Fuller (Dividing the Estate), Rachael Harris ('Notes from the Underbelly') and Diane Neal ('Law & Order: SVU') this week! They were joined by an opening night celebration by playwrights Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, director Karen Carpenter, producer Daryl Roth and more. Last night, May 27, the Atlantic Theatre Company opening the world premiere of Stephen Belber's DUSK RINGS A BELL, starring Kate Walsh ('Private Practice,' 'Grey's Anatomy') and Paul Sparks Directed by Sam Gold, DUSK RINGS A BELL began previews Wednesday, May 19 and will play through Saturday, June 26 at Atlantic Stage 2 - having announced an extension before previews even bagan.

Yesterday, May 25, Stanley Tucci was honored by Sardi's with a famed wall caricature. On hand to celebrate was the cast of Broadway's LEND ME A TENOR, including Anthony LaPaglia, Tony Shalhoub, Justin Bartha, Jan Maxwell, Brooke Adams, Mary Catherine Garrison, Jennifer Laura Thompson, and Jay Klaitz. The Committee for Recognizing Women in Theater presented the first annual 'Lilly Awards' in honor of Lillian Hellman at Playwright's Horizons yesterday, May 24. This year, the Lilly Awards honored 17 women theater artists who have been produced in the past year in New York City. An after party was held and the West Bank Cafe.

Last night, May 24, MTC hosted thier annual Spring Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street. The organization honored MTC's Board Chairman Peter J. Solomon for his longtime leadership, as well as his generous support of and commitment to MTC. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the event.
