Lynn Stein and Barry Kostrinsky As Artistic Director, Lynn has made the Rockland Center for the Arts (ROCA) a leading venue for contemporary arts in the lower Hudson Valley region. She has curated and responsible for installing 185+ thematic exhibitions of paintings, ceramics,
multi media, video, sculpture, and more .She has doubled the physical venues available for such programs. Among several unique contributions, Lynn has launched two enclosed time-based media spaces, Catherine Konner outdoor sculpture park of over 15 major pieces many from the New York Public Art Fund, and has reconceived existing galleries to expand opportunities for more artists to exhibit their work. As a multi-faceted and high level performing artist, Lynn brings an ease of communication to all her varied and key encounters as she goes about her job. She has a profound understanding of a range of artistic needs, processes and temperaments.

Barry Kostrinsky is the founder of Haven Arts Gallery a large gallery and performance space that reinvigorated the South Bronx arts scene from 2004-2009. The Municipal Arts Society (MAS) awarded haven Arts a certificate of merit in 2006. Barry has contributed to a variety of panels including a NYC Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) Percent for art program, and a Bronx Museum symposium for the Artist in the Artists in Marketplace (AIM) program. Barry formed and moderated a talk for the Artists Talk on Art(ATOA) Series at The School of Visual arts (SVA). Currently Barry serves as a member of the Arts in Public Places (AIPP) committee for Rockland County. His past experiences managing a manufacturing company and his financial background in asset allocation makes Barry uniquely qualified to understand and to write about the art market. Barry is an artist and a curator.

It is hard enough to know what we really see and experience. Are you feeling all life has to offer, is your head down or are you alive? It is even harder to know what others feel. When two people see art do they see the same thing? No, definitely not. Lynn Stein and I enjoyed a day in NYC at the Guggenheim, the MET and the Park Avenue Armory. What did we see and how did we experience the same exhibits?
