Vivalogue Publishing has joined forces with Red Tuque Books in order to provide comprehensive book distribution services to its authors. For a modest fee, independent authors will be able to make their book available to bookstores, gift stores and libraries across Canada. Books will be distributed according to industry standard terms, including returns. Titles distributed by Red Tuque will also be available online at Amazon.ca. Authors will have the opportunity to advertise their title(s) in a semi-annual catalogue which is distributed to over 1,100 retailers across Canada.

"This arrangement allows bookstores and other retailers to stock books by independent authors on the same terms as books produced by trade publishers," said Lynn Duncan, Vivalogue's Canadian Director. "Equal access to the marketplace will encourage a robust and diverse industry."

The spring catalogue will include two of Vivalogue's titles. Dad's Christmas Stories, by David E. Burnell, is an anthology of short stories ranging from fantasy to western which the author originally penned to share with his family every Christmas. Grace, Grit and Gusto: Profiles of Remarkable Royal City Women was produced by a group of volunteers as a fundraiser for a local women's shelter. It includes short biographies of women of local, regional or national importance throughout the 150 year history of New Westminster. To date, the book has raised more than $8,000.

Vivalogue intends to increase its offerings in the fall catalogue by including new fiction and non-fiction titles along with several cookbooks. Out on a Limb, a young adult novel from Gail Banning, will also be available. First published by Key Porter Books in 2008 to strong reviews, Out on a Limb sold out its initial print run and is being reprinted by Vivalogue.

Vivalogue is a specialty publisher which helps individuals and organizations create professional-quality books and realize the benefits of self-publishing without the administrative burden. Vivalogue offers research, writing, editing, design, printing and marketing services in Canada and the United Kingdom. For more information, visithttp://www.vivalogue.com.
