Entertainment icon Dick Van Dyke visited CBS's THE TALK, and shared his thoughts on the new MARY POPPINS movie reportedly in the works. Dick wishes the new project well, but worries that sometimes sequels don't live up to the originals, and mentions that Walt Disney himself is what made the movie so special.

"Walt was the guiding spirit over the whole thing... we would say we were both children looking for our inner adults." Asked if he would be interested in participating, he joked, "Tell them Bert's dead."

Van Dyke starred in the films Bye Bye Birdie, Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and in the TV series TheDick Van Dyke Show and Diagnosis: Murder. He recently starred in Night at the Museum (2006) and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014).

Recipient of five Emmys, a Tony, and a Grammy, Van Dyke was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1995. He received the Screen Actors Guild's highest honor, the SAG Life Achievement Award, in 2013. Van Dyke has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7021 Hollywood Boulevard and has also been recognized as a Disney Legend.
