As reported by BroadwayWorld, The Tony Award-winning Drama Book Shop, which will be celebrating its 100th birthday in 2017, has suffered a setback recently, after a water pipe burst caused extensive damage to the shop and half of its inventory.

Many prominent names in the theatre community have voiced their support for this beloved New York institution, including an internet campaign for sales generated by HAMILTON's Lin-Manuel Miranda.

As they're been for 99 years, theatre luminaries still frequent the Drama Book Shop every day. One such, Amanda Green, is not only the daughter famed actor Phyllis Newman and the brilliant musical theatre bookwriter and lyricist Adolph Green, but an accomplish lyricist in her own right, having provided clever words for the scores of HIGH FIDELITY, BRING IT ON and HANDS ON A HARDBODY.

Having been a regular customer since her early days as an acting student, Green insists, "We need this book shop!"
