On Monday, December 1, the Theater People Podcast welcomes ON THE TOWN star Alysha Umphress. She shares fascinating stories from her journey with the project, including after a slew of ensemble roles in Broadway shows, her decision to only be seen for principal parts, which led to this opportunity.

Umphress also discusses making her Broadway debut in AMERICAN IDIOT, after years of working as a singing waitress and bartender/hostess of the popular After Party; and she talks about her several near misses with major roles in past Broadway productions.

The episode features tracks from Alysha's solo album "Alysha Umphress: Live at the Laurie Beechman Theater" and an upcoming collaboration with Tony nominated orchestrator/lyricist Jeff Blumenkrantz.
