China Animation with Sandy Ding

DingXin (AKA. Sandy Ding) is an experimental filmmaker working mostly on abstractions and the image/sound ambience of the ritual evocation. His work is composed primarily with nature and mystics, using 16mm and hand processing techniques to be a vessel for spiritual quests. He is a CalArts alumni, and teaches film and video at Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China.

Sandy Ding PRISM
An abstract film about light structures and the fragment of mysteries in the path of time.

Sandy Ding 2THEREPERFERVIDTOL1
This is a film about a person meditating on love and the fire on rock.

Sandy Ding THE MOON
This film intends to bring out a vivid sensation of the moon, a fundamental energy of the universe.

Sandy Ding MANCOON
Heard that the Mancoon is a kind of big cat that has an M on its forehead…

Sandy Ding WATER SPELL
A bold, abstract journey that takes us into the psychic interior of our very cellular structure... and back. For me, this film is about reincarnation and transformation, on both the spiritual and sub-atomic levels. This is not an easy film, but it is a powerful one.
