THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As with Your Favorite Broadway Stars- NEWSIES' Kara Lindsay!
Welcome to THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As With Your Favorite Broadway Stars. Want to know what hooked them to a career in the theater? Their dream roles? Their Broadway crushes? Read on!
What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?
What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?
When I was in A CHRISTMAS CAROL at Geva Theater in Rochester, NY all of us played multiple roles except 'Scrooge', of course. So there were many quick changes and lots of wigs/ costumes to change in and out of. One particular quick change, I was left to my own devices, as will happen in live theater, and the person in charge of wigs had forgotten to preset my wig. It was previews so mistakes were bound to happen. So all I had was my wig capped bald head and this gorgeous pink corseted dress. I had only seconds before I had to be onstage for a scene where it's just me and one other person, Ned Noyes. I grabbed a random scarf and wrapped it around my head like a cool hipster and ran onstage. Ned's surprised face at my new look spurred a laughter that was uncontrollable! Live theater!
What is the one role you want to play before you die?
Oh goodness there are a lot! Ever since I was little I've dreamed of playing 'Belle' in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. I also love the quirkiness of 'Eliza Doolittle' in MY FAIR LADY. But before I die, if there is a musical about "The Golden Girls," I wanna play 'Rose'. So about 40 years from now?
Who is your Broadway crush?
Where can people stalk you online?
Broadwayworld? :). And perhaps twitter @karalindsay1. Sometimes I talk about the weather and such. I have an Instagram account too, but I don't really know how to use it so there are two pictures on there and I don't even know how they got there. Wow, aren't I the brightest crayon in the box?!
