84-year-old Leslie Caron, who originated the role of 'Lise' in the 1951 film AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, paid a visit to the hit Broadway revival last night.

The star was introduced to the lucky audience members following the curtain call, joining cast members Brandon Uranowitz, Leanne Cope and Robert Fairchild. Fairchild presented the legendary film actress with flowers before she took her own well-deserved center stage bow.

In BWW's exclusive interview with Cope, the dancer spoke about a special meeting she had with Caron while in London last year. "She was so open and so honest, and she told me about how wonderful Gene Kelly was, how for her, like me, she was a ballet dancer. Gene Kelly had found her in Paris, he had watched her dance the ballet and she came to Hollywoodtwo weeks later and made the film. And it was just the most wonderful story. And she was full of advice. The most wonderful thing she said to me was, "Lise is yours now."
