musical Li'l Abner, for which he won a Theatre World Award. He was cast in the same role in the movie version. His Li'l Abner role brought him a guest appearance on NBC's The Ford Show, Starring Tennessee Ernie Ford.
Palmer also appeared on Broadway in Lorelei opposite Carol Channing. He had a recurring role as Sergeant James Bustos, a former Confederate States of America soldier, in the ABC military-western seriesCuster and as Oscar Heinz on The Kallikaks.

Palmer appeared in numerous television shows, including: Dallas, Brothers, Simon & Simon, M*A*S*H, Fantasy Island, Tabitha, Three's Company, Quincy M.E. , Code R, The Rockford Files, EMERGENCY!, Lancer, Love American Style, The Jackie Gleason Show and more. He has starred in musicals and plays all over the country. And...your Host, Jimmy Ferraro and wife, Dee Etta Rowe,apperared with Peter Palmer in Rodgers and Hammerstein's, immortal "CAROUSEL".
