Matt Faucher, Jessica Lauren Ball, Paul Binotto and Lauren Weinberg to Lead GUYS AND DOLLS at Olney Theatre Center

Olney Theatre Center, a Mid-Atlantic destination for extraordinary theater performance and education, continues its 2015-2016 season with the classic American musical GUYS AND DOLLS November 11 through December 27 on the Mainstage.

Holiday musicals at Olney Theatre Center have become a tradition for thousands of patrons throughout the region... and is there any American musical more classic than GUYS AND DOLLS? Considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, and featuring signature songs like "Luck Be A Lady," "A Bushel and a Peck," and "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat," GUYS AND DOLLS weaves a tale of old-time gangsters, hot-box girls, and gambling. Based on the short stories of Damon Runyan, GUYS AND DOLLS continues to be a cultural touchstone of lovable wise-guys and the women who find themselves romantically entangled with them.

"It's hard to believe Olney Theatre Center has never produced this most perfect of musical theater comedies," says Artistic Director, Jason Loewith. "Since so many of us have been in GUYS AND DOLLS -- or our kids and grandkids have -- it's a perfect family celebration for the holidays."

Matt Faucher makes his Olney Theatre Center debut as Sky Masterson. Mr. Faucher recently appeared in the Papermill Playhouse production of Oklahoma! He has appeared Off Broadway in The Threepenny Opera and The Road to Hollywood.

Helen Hayes Award-nominee Jessica Lauren Ball returns to Olney Theatre Center as Sarah Brown. Ms. Ball captivated Olney Theatre Center audiences with her performances as Sandy in Grease, Maria in The Sound of Music, and Cinderella in Cinderella. Most recently, she appeared in Signature Theatre's The Fix and Elmer Gantry.

Broadway-veteran Paul Binotto plays Nathan Detroit. Mr. Binotto appeared on Broadway in the original casts of Dreamgirls and Starlight Express, as well as the 1977 revival of Hair. Locally he received Helen Hayes Award nominations for his work in Arena Stage's Candide and On The Town. He was last seen at Olney Theatre Center as John Adams in 1776.

Lauren Weinberg makes her Olney Theatre Center debut as Adelaide. Ms. Weinberg recently appeared in the National Tour of GUYS AND DOLLS as Adelaide. She also toured in the first National tour of Teacher From The Black Lagoon.

They are joined by Tobias Young as Nicely Nicely. Olney Theatre Center Artistic Associates Valerie Leonard (Hay Fever, The Price) and Evan Casey (Avenue Q, The 39 Steps) join the cast as pious General Cartwright and gangster Bennie Southstreet.

Rounding out the cast of GUYS AND DOLLS are MaryLee Adams, Ben Cunis, Leo Erickson, Ron Heneghan, Andre Hinds, Jocelyn Isaac, Amanda Kaplan, Ethan Kasnett, Julia Klavans, David Landstrom, Nurney Mason, Richard Pelzman, and Tony Thomas.

Jerry Whiddon helms this production of GUYS AND DOLLS. Mr. Whiddon is the former artistic director of Round House Theatre and most recently directed Tiny Tim's Christmas Carol for Imagination Stage. Michael Bobbitt, Adventure Theatre-MTC Producing Artistic Director, choreographs this classic piece. They are joined by Timothy Splain as Music Director.

The creative team also includes Dan Conway (Scenic Designer), Colin K. Bills (Lighting Designer), Rosemary Pardee (Costume Designer), Jeffrey Dorfman (Sound Designer), and Josiane M. Lemieux (Production Stage Manager).
