Acclaimed playwright, screenwriter and director Neil LaBute discusses the upcoming star-studded one-night-only benefit performance of his unique 9/11-themed play THE MERCY SEAT in a new featurette just released.

THE MERCY SEAT was originally produced by the MCC Theater in 2002 and this special performance marks the tenth anniversary of the partnership between the noted playwright and the Manhattan theater as their Playwright In Residence.

LaBute is currently represented at MCC as well by his new play REASONS TO BE HAPPY, which he wrote and directed.

THE MERCY SEAT features Julianna Margulies and frequent LaBute collaborator Paul Rudd in a reading of the play that will be presented on June 17. It is already sold-out.

For more information on both REASONS TO BE HAPPY and THE MERCY SEAT, visit the official MCC site here.
