About the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival

The Hawaii Performing Arts Festival is a world-class summer music festival located in Waimea on the Big Island of Hawai'i. For three weeks in July, HPAF brings excitement and cultural vitality to the community, performing over 20 classical concerts in Waimea, Hilo, and Kona.

This summer the festival returns to O'ahu at the Honolulu Museum of Art. Joining Iggy Jang and co-Director Eugene Chukhlov will be Avery Fisher Grant recipient violinist Chee-Yun, Pacific University faculty violist Igor Veligan, University of Wisconsin faculty cellist Parry Karp, and many more. Together with talented students, they will perform a potpourri of timeless favorites and mind-bending selections.

The HPAF String Program was created in 2011 by Hawaii Symphony Concertmaster Iggy Jang, whose tireless devotion to his students provides a caring, nurturing musical environment conducive to higher learning. Led by an outstanding faculty, participants benefit from a selection of intensive classes and performance opportunities, while being given time to enjoy the unparalleled inspiring beauty of Hawai'i.

Graciously sponsored by Trish and Michael O'Neill.
