FREEZE FRAME: MATILDA's Leading Ladies Get Surprise Portrait at Sardi's

The young leading ladies of MATILDA -- Milly Shapiro, Sophia Gennusa, Bailey Ryon and Oona Laurence -- attended a surprise Sardi's caricature unveiling at Sardi's Restaurant today, October 22, 2013 in New York City. Produced by The Royal Shakespeare Company and The Dodgers, the Broadway smash hit MATILDA opened in April at the Shubert Theatre. Matilda The Musical has received four Tony Awards and a Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theater for each of the four girls sharing the title role, as well as two Outer Critics Circle Awards, five Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical, and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical.

Winner of a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards including Best Musical, Matilda The Musical is based on the beloved novel by best-selling author Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr. Fox). It is the story of an extraordinary girl who dreams of a better life. Armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, Matilda dares to take a stand and change her destiny.
