December at Blue Note Hawaii, the state's premier venue for the world's most celebrated artists, promises to be one of the most musically-diverse months yet. The club kicks off with two nights of the island's hottest reggae acts with Revive the Live Waikiki Edition, followed by tributes to Billie Holiday and Duke Ellington, singer-songwriter Imua Garza and a nostalgic run with Henry Kapono as he presents the Songs of C&K. Acoustic rock and reggae artist Trevor Hall, the legendary Willie K and soulful guitarist Tavana take us into the middle of the month, leading up to GRAMMY(R) Award-winning trumpeter Herb Alpert. Local favorites Streetlight Cadence and M?noaDNA are up next, with singer-songwriter-surfer Tom Curren making his Blue Note Hawaii debut as well. The Revive the Live concert series is making its way to the heart of Waikiki featuring some of Hawaii's top island & reggae artists. We kick off Friday, December 2nd featuring Local Uprising, The Vitals and Mike Love. Saturday features Remedy Vibes, Mahkess and Maoli. Revive the Live is presented by Hawaii's Finest, Island 98.5 and Coors Light.

A Tribute to Billie Holiday: Josh Kaye Trio Featuring Sherry Graham

Pianist Josh Kaye returns to Blue Note leading his trio in a special concert tribute to iconic jazz vocalist Billie Holiday. The trio will feature Bruce Hamada on bass and San Francisco drummer Rob Hart. Joining the trio will be Hawaii vocalist Sherry Graham.

Duke Ellington's Nutcracker Suite: Mike Lewis Big Band featuring Tommy James

Native New-Yorker and trumpeter Mike Lewis presents Duke Ellington's Nutcracker Suite, featuring the Mike Lewis Big Band and pianist Tommy James. The show will highlight the jazz interpretations of Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" as arranged by Duke Ellington, as well as many other Ellington hits.

Mike Lewis has spent substantial time performing in Polynesia and the tri-state New York area, Mike Lewis has recently moved back to Hawaii after touring and recording with Buddy Rich, Sarah Vaughn, Sammy Davis, Wynton Marsalis, Sonny and Cher, Billy Joel, Natalie Cole, Rosemary Clooney, The Temptations, Tony Bennett, Gladys Knight, and Bruno Mars. Tommy James was born in Mt. Pleasant, New York. He studied music composition at The Manhattan School of Music. Tommy joined The Duke Ellington Orchestra in 1987 after being personally invited by Mercer Ellington (the son of Duke) and has been conductor of the band for past 10 years.

Imua Garza Featuring MOOSTR

Imua Garza is a vocalist, musician, producer, recording engineer and composer. He first appeared on a professionally released CD at the age of 11. About this time Imua started playing in his first music group, the Opihi Pickers. Although he's been known as an ukulele virtuoso in Hawaii, today he's taking on a more universal sound that is guitar-driven and appealing to most ages. His songs reflect that of real-life stories, dreams and purpose. His Blue Note performances will feature his new band MOOSTR, with his wife Tiffany, which recently released its debut album "Let's Go."

Henry Kapono Presents: Back in the Day, the Songs of C&K

The story began Back in the Day "with a harmony's perfect blending" under a starry night on Oahu's North Shore in February 1973. After back to back sold out concerts at the Waikiki Shell and record-breaking attendance at the Honolulu Stadium, C&K garnered a multi-album deal with Columbia Records and went on to tour the nation sharing the stage with some of the greatest American artists of the time. Back in the Day, the Songs of C&K, celebrates the music of Cecilio & Kapono and the living legacy of one of Hawaii's most prolific entertainers, Henry Kapono.

Trevor Hall

Presented by Blue Note Hawaii, Hawaii's Finest and Coors Light

Trevor Hall recorded his first record at sixteen and moved from South Carolina the following year to study classical guitar at Idyllwild Arts Academy, an international boarding school east of Los Angeles. There, Trevor was introduced to yoga and certain spiritual practices found in India, which greatly influenced his music and his life journey. During his senior year, Trevor signed a record deal with Geffen Records and his career as a musician formally began. He quickly broke through the music scene, with such early accomplishments in his career as having a song recorded on the Shrek the Third soundtrack, as well as joining a series of sold-out tours with artists such as Steel Pulse, The Wailers, Jimmy Cliff, Matisyahu, Michael Franti, SOJA, Brett Dennen and Colbie Callait. Trevor Hall's music - an eclectic mix of acoustic rock, reggae and Sanskrit chanting - echo with the names and teachings of divinities, while maintaining an incredibly and refreshingly universal message. His latest album, KALA, written in Hawaii and recorded in LA, was released on August 21, 2015. It debuted at #2 on the iTunes singer/songwriter chart.

Willie K

Raised on Maui, Willie Kahaiali`i (a.k.a. Willie K) has been entertaining audiences with his music since the age of 10. He has evolved into an eclectic and charismatic singer, songwriter, entertainer, and now actor. One of Hawaii's most versatile talents, Willie performs a myriad of musical genres, including Hawaiian, Jazz, Blues, Reggae, Rock, Country Western, and even Opera.

Tavana's blend of singer/songwriter, acoustic-blues-rock-roots music has been captivating audiences throughout the Hawaiian island chain and east to the mainland. Tavana has sent many of Hawaii's visitors home with a fresh experience far beyond expectation. Tavana's innovative sound has gained him radio play of original music like Vanster Hop, Warrior Song, Still They Want More, Wino, Desert Rain and My Carnival quickly gaining momentum among the local scene.

Herb Alpert & Lani Hall

Herb Alpert and Lani Hall infuse an eclectic blend of jazz, world and American pop standards with their unique sound. Performing together since 2006, each half of this husband-and-wife duo brings an impressive musical background to the table: Alpert's accomplishments include five number one hits, 28 albums on the Billboard charts and eight Grammys; while Hall is a GRAMMY(R) Award-winning vocalist who was the original lead singer for Sergio Mendes' Brasil '66.

Streetlight Cadence

Streetlight Cadence is a four-piece Alternative Folk Pop band that started on the streets of historic Waikiki. What began as a means to pay for groceries has now turned into a full-time career for this group of friends. The band has spent the last six years honing their craft as songwriters and entertainers. Although they come from a strict classical background of musical performance, the men of Streetlight Cadence are anything but your typical quartet.

M?noaDNA: "Boys & Their Toys" Christmas Concert

Buffalo Music Presents: Tom Curren with Hirobonu Sato & Friends

Tom Curren is acknowledged as one of surfing's true geniuses and a soulful original. Curren has played a variety of instruments since fifteen. His drumming, bass, guitar, singing and composition take a form that reflects his unique personality. Famously reclusive, his musical gift was only recognized-although highly regarded-among a small enclave of musical celebrities.

His performances at Blue Note Hawaii will feature award-winning guitar and ukulele player Hiro Saito, who had traveled and played with Tom in multiple countries including Japan, Canada, England, Morocco, Indonesia, and across the USA.
