Charisma, Brassroots and ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS at Bank Holiday River Stage Festival

On 26-29 August the National Theatre brings a jam-packed programme of work to the River Stage Festival. Experience the joy that is Brassroots; exquisite techno and house sets from Charisma; and the unrivalled Dom Coyote, who has performed and written music for some of the world's most exciting theatre companies. A further highlight will be a free outdoor screening of the acclaimed NT production, One Man, Two Guvnors starring James Corden, who won a Tony for the role of Francis Henshall.

The River Stage Festival, the free outdoor season in front of the National Theatre, has featured takeover weekends from The Glory, Latitude Festival, Mayfest and Rambert, with events every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 29 July until 29 August. An eclectic combination of theatre, guest DJs, live music in the afternoon and late evening, family fun, vibrant dance and the very best live music acts.

Charisma

6 - 7pm

Charisma will be playing a mix of UK Funky, UK Garage, House, Jersey Club and Grime. He is currently a resident DJ for Mode FM and has performed at venues including the Roundhouse, Rich Mix, Tribal Nightclub, Proud Camden and BBC Bristol.

Brassroots

7:30 - 9pm

Brassroots exploded on to the London music scene to help establish a flourishing brass band scene in our nation's capital. They have since gone on to achieve huge success and set stages alight across the country, recording and performing with an impressive roster of International Artists. They are consistently billed amongst the cream of the crop in the U.K.'s music scene and considered amongst the best of international brass bands. Join them on the South Bank for some of the funkiest and hardest-hitting brass you will ever hear.

Charisma

Candoco Dance Company presents You and I Know a new duet by Arlene Phillips

Candoco Dance Company is a company of disabled and non-disabled dancers, founded in 1991. Candoco produce excellent and profound experiences for audiences and participants that excite, challenge and broaden perceptions of art and ability. They place people and collaboration at the heart of their work, which is produced by world-class choreographers.

Sola Akinbola and Critical Mass

7:15 - 9pm

Critical Mass is the live band led by Sola Akingbola, percussionist with Jamiroquai. Critically acclaimed and with a loyal following, their music presents twists of funky guitars with a heavy groove laced with tasty percussion parts. Don't miss this incredible act this summer on the South Bank.

DJ Jazzheadchronic Mickey Smith presents The South London Soul Train

9 - 10:45pm

South London Soul Train host, Jazzheadchronic Mickey Smith, presents a night of eclectic tunes and unrivalled fun on the South Bank. Don't miss his unforgettable beats that have changed the face of South London's party scene.

Sun 28 August

Munro

1:30 - 3pm

Munro play sunny roots/folk rock with a splash of Americana and influences from country, rock, and classic R&B. They served as the live band for One Man, Two Guvnors, which helped hone them into an impressive live act.

Josienne Clarke and Ben Walker

4 - 5pm

Josienne Clarke and Ben Walker present beautiful, traditional and reworked songs and self-written compositions. Clarke sings with beautifully emotive vocals supported by Walker's outstanding guitar. A must-see for folk lovers everywhere.

The Craze

6 - 7pm

Loved One Man, Two Guvnors? Then you will know and love this amazing skiffle act, which returns to the National this summer. Don't miss the very best in live music ahead of a special outdoor screening of the NT's acclaimed hit production of One Man, Two Guvnors.

Featuring a Tony Award-winning performance from James Corden, the uproarious One Man, Two Guvnors was a runaway hit at the NT, in London's West End and on Broadway.

Tea Dance

2 - 4pm

Join us for an afternoon filled with joyous dancing, whether this is your first time or you are an expert at tripping the light fantastic, release those inhibitions and join in the fun.

Phil King

5:30 - 6:30pm

Following the release of his third studio album, The Wreckage, and another summer performing at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, two-time Venue Magazine roots artist of the year Phil King will be performing a set with his band.

SUMMER POP-UP EATING AND DRINKING

New for this summer at the NT, Apothecary, an outdoor pop-up cocktail bar on the river front with bottled sharing cocktails you mix yourself with fresh botanical ingredients. Enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine while relaxing on the grass in the Green Room Garden. The Pizza Van returns to make delicious wood-fired pizzas, and the Ice Cream Van will be on the riverfront serving ice cream and gelato.
