Celebration Theatre is bringing back last season's successful A CHRISTMAS CAROL: a lighter, less-traditional, more gay-fabulous adaptation by Jason Moyer and directed by Celebration Theatre's new artistic director Michael A. Shepperd. A CHRISTMAS CAROL opens on Friday, November 28 and runs through Sunday, December 21st at Celebration Theatre, 7051B Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood.

In this version, the fashion house of S&M (Scrooge and Marley) has been in a tizzy. Ever since famed designer Jacob Marley died, word from the house of fashionista is that Ebenezer "Ben" Scrooge is not happy, and he is spreading humbug throughout the fashion world. It's "Ugly Betty" meets "Project Runway," Celebration Theatre-style, with Michael Taylor Gray returning as Scrooge with a "Pshaw!" for everyone and a spectacular new diva Christmas classic written especially for this production by Brian Pugach.

ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM

Michael A. Shepperd (Director, Artistic Director) is very excited to be directing his very first show at Celebration Theatre during his first few months as Artistic Director. Acting credits at Celebration include The Bacchae, FOUR, and Milk Cartons. Michael also adapted Coffee Will Make You Black, the west coast premiere and run of which was recently staged at the theatre to critical acclaim. Other Los Angeles credits: Master Harold and the Boys (NAACP Theatre Nomination: Lead Actor) at the ColonyTheatre, Intimate Apparel (NAACP Theatre Award: supporting actor) at San Diego Rep, Caroline, or Change (Ahmanson,) The Blacks (Evidence Room), STEEL: John Henry and the Shaker (Ovation Award, Lead Actor) Oasis Theater, Raisin (ICT, NAACP Theatre Award nomination), and Parade (MTG). "Voice of Audrey II" in the Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors directed by Jerry Zaks. Film and Television: "NCIS," "Criminal Minds," "Frasier," "Monk," "Wizards of Waverly Place," "Ally McBeal," "Arrested Development," "E.R.," and "Strong Medicine."

A CHRISTMAS CAROL stars Michael Taylor Gray, Christopher Grant Pearson, Charlene Modeste, Vash Bodde, Sean lambert, Joy Sudduth, Michael Mullen, Michael O'Hara, Lindsay Wray and John Michael Beck.

Music Direction is by Brian Pugach. Scenic design is by Mark Austin Rowell. Lighting design is by Brandon Baruch. Costumes are by Suzanne Scott. Properties are by Michael O'Hara, and Stage Management is by Marcedes Clanton. A CHRISTMAS CAROL is being produced by Jason Moyer and Leslie Gilliam.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL opens on Friday, November 28th, and runs through Sunday, December 21st. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sunday matinees at 3pm. Ticket prices are $20.00 for all performances.
