On Thursday, June 28th, the ten finalists in Ken Davenport's 10-Minute Play Contest presented their plays and musicals at Davenport Studios for a live audience and judges panel that included Isaac Robert Hurwitz (NYMF Executive Producer), Joe Iconis (Bloodsong of Love, The Black Suits), Sarah Saltzberg (The 25th Annual Putnam...), and Ken Davenport (Godspell, Avenue Q). The judges and audience voted for their favorite piece of the night.

The winner of the contest was Cookie Soiree: a sweet new musical short with Book & Lyrics by Justin Anthony Long, Music by Garrit Guadan and Concept by Jonathan Lee. Long and Lee Directed the piece that had Musical Direction by Guadan and Choreography by Jelani Remy. Chris Bediones Assistant Directed. The cast included Desiree Rodriguez, Amber Coartney, Kate Lippstreu, Justin Gregory Lopez, and Joe Conti.

Here's how the show is billed: "Raquel, Gretel, and Sandy are everyone’s favorite girl scouts. Most days they can be seen outside the Walmart in Sugar Land, Texas selling their cookies. They’re so close to getting their cookie badges when two strangers rob their cashbox! They may just be kids, but these three scouts prove that even the smallest packages can pack a big punch."

This is the first year that Davenport Studios has run the 10-Minute Play Contest. Over two hundred shows were submitted.
