Author C. E. Young announces the publication of "Hiker and the Stranger" (published by iUniverse), a story of redemption wherein a fallen angel is pitted against one good man trying to save the world.

Boaz Hiker is happy and proud of his successful life. A beautiful wife and daughter complete his suburban dreamland that includes a fancy house and car paid for by his big-time job. Even so, Bo, as he's known to friends, can't help but feel like something's missing, but before he's able to figure out what, his world changes in the blink of an eye.

Suddenly, it appears as though Bo is the last man alive on Earth. In an attempt to reunite with his family, he starts on a journey through a bizarre new world, meeting prophets, priests and pilgrims along the way, and eventually encountering a mysterious, unnamed stranger.

The stranger has tremendous powers, and Bo is only guided by a compass and his own morals. These guides will determine whether he can save his wife, daughter and the rest of humanity as Bo faces off against the mysterious stranger in a battle to resurrect all of humanity.

"This dramatic, post-apocalyptic story combines earthly degradation and celestial uplift, prostitutes and angels, and asks all of us to put ourselves in Boaz Hiker's shoes," Young explains. "How would we fare in a final battle of good versus evil, pitted by the creator of the universe against his fallen son? How would we compare to one good man, trying to rise to the occasion, against all odds, to save the world and all of humanity? This thought provoking story will challenge and entertain readers."
