Universal Pictures has just confirmed to Variety that Charlie Hunnam who was to star in the upcoming film version of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY has dropped OUT of the picture, citing the old reliable reason of "scheduling conflicts" with his FX Series, SONS OF ANARCHY. Hunnam was recently seen on the big screen in the sci-film Pacific Rim.

Last week, it was reported that Jennifer Ehle had signed on for the upcoming FIFTY SHADES OF GREY movie. She will join Dakota Johnson in the film adaptation of EL James' bestselling, steamy book series, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.

Ehle will play Carla, mother to Anastasia Steele (Johnson). Hunnam stars as Steele's "billionaire sex machine" lover Christian Grey.

Johnson, a 23-year-old former model, was previously seen in the Oscar nominated 'The Social Network' as well as FOX's short-lived comedy Ben and Kate. She is the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith.Ehle's upcoming projects include Robocop, A Little Chaos, Black and White and Advantageous. Past film credits include Zero Dark Thirty Contagion, The Ides of March, The Adjustment Bureau, The King's Speech, Wilde, Pride and Prejudice and more.

Ehle has appeared on Broadway in The Coast of Utopia, Part 1-3 -- for which she won a Tony Award in 2007 -- Design for Living and The Real Thing -- another Tony-winning performance in 2000 -- as well as off-Broadway's Mr. & Mrs. Fitch.
