Welcome to BWW's exclusive talk show, BACKSTAGE WITH Richard Ridge. Follow Richard as he visits the theater's best and brightest in their dressing rooms, on their stages and favorite hang outs to talk about their lives, careers and all of the things you don't know, but want to know. In the special interview below, Richard welcomes the four original stars of Aladdin (Adam Jacobs, Jonathan Freeman, James Monroe Iglehart, and Courtney Reed), who just extended their contracts in the Tony Award-winning new musical comedy through 2016. Watch as they discuss how they got into the business, which Disney movies inspired them as children, and so much more. Check out Part 2 of the interview below!

Aladdin opened to critical acclaim on March 20th, 2014 at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre and went on to receive 24 major theatrical award nominations. Despite beginning performances eight weeks into the year, Aladdin was the third highest-attended Broadway show of 2014; only the juggernauts Wicked and The Lion King entertained more people.

Aladdin, adapted from the Disney film and centuries-old folktales including "One Thousand and One Nights," is brought to fresh theatrical life in this bold new musical. Aladdin's journey sweeps audiences into an exotic world of daring adventure, classic comedy and timeless romance. This new production features a full score, including the five cherished songs from the Academy Award-winning soundtrack and more written especially for the stage.
