Tricia McCauley

The DC theatre community is grieving over the senseless loss of actress, herbalist, and yoga instructor Tricia McCauley.

As previously reported, McCauley was supposed to to be at the home of Washington Stage Guild's Artistic Director Bill Largess for a Christmas Day dinner. She never arrived. She was also supposed to have boarded a flight to visit relatives on the 26th. She never made it.

McCauley's car was found around midnight in the 2200 block of M street in NW DC. Her family confirmed her body was found a few hours later. DC Police confirmed those details in a news conference this morning. Police also confirmed that a suspect is in custody. His name will be released later today. Police also released a timeline with several locations as to where McCauley's car was seen. If you have any information, you are asked to contact the DC Police Department.

Ms. McCauley's theatre credits included many productions for the Washington Stage Guild as well as productions at Theater J, Olney Theatre Center, Imagination Stage, and many other area theatres.

The Facebook page that started out as a way for people to help find Tricia, is now a page in her memory. To view the page, click here. The first thing you will see is a statement from her brother Brian. It reads "Tricia is gone, they have found her body. Thank you all for your work, support and love. To all of her DC family, I know she truly thought of you that way, thank you for being there for her all these years. Hang on to each other."
