BE THE DOG Begins Performances At The Robert Moss Theatre 8/26

By:

Based on the short stories of Dave Eggers, Be the Dog celebrates and ridicules a world of complicated human relationships - through the eyes one simply exuberant dog.

As people, many of us are constantly striving for more and obsessing over what stops us from getting there, we often find ourselves forgetting to experience the joy in simplicity. We are often afraid and reluctant to jump, to take risks that could lead us to something joyful in our lives. This new work inspires us to examine the complexity in our lives and to jump no matter the costs.

Written by Emily Kaye Liberis, it was produced as her senior thesis project at Boston University's School of Theatre in 2007. She developed it there with director Jason McDowell-Green. It was performed in May of 2007 and featured four actors from the BFA acting program. After much success, the play was picked up and produced as a workshop at Pendragon Theatre Company in Saranac Lake, NY As a production of RyderWorks, Be The Dog faces its most exciting phase at the New York International Fringe Festival from August 26 through August 30th, 2009 at The Robert Moss Theatre in New York City.
