Hosted by Jason Aldean and Kristen Bell, the CMT Music Awards sparked record conversations across social media for CMT, as the live June 5th telecast ranked as the #1 most social TV show of the day, according to Social Guide.* Undoubtedly the network's most "social" event to date, #CMTawards took top billing on-air, online and throughout the venue; and became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter almost immediately. Nearly every performer, song and award category trended during the 2.5 hour show, which peaked at 7,992 total tweets per minute and over 852,229 total mentions on Twitter, nearly double the 2012 awards show.

CMT.com offered more access to fans than ever before as well; with multiple live streams, video exclusives and editorial coverage that began with rehearsals and continued throughout the live show. More than 100 pieces of awards-related content were posted online, and the effort delivered triple-digit growth in streaming, up +101% on CMT.com over last year. Continuing the trend of recent years, CMT Mobile also experienced an impressive +118% growth in streams over last year. Additionally, votes tripled this year for the show's coveted Video of the Year category, which is voted on live throughout the night at CMT.com and on mobile.

In other digital wins, Carrie Underwood became the most-streamed performance excerpt from the show with "See You Again," a moving performance to honor the victims of the fatal tornadoes in her home state of Oklahoma, while Hunter Hayes was the most-visited page for the day at Artists.CMT. Twitter reached its peak during Luke Bryan's performance of "Crash My Party" from the famous Nashville honky tonk, The Stage. Other standouts among Twitter conversations were Florida Georgia Line and Nelly who closed the show with "Cruise;" Carrie Underwood's performance of "See You Again;" and Taylor Swift's dazzling choreographed performance of her latest hit, "Red."
