Following an open application process, writers Naomi Westerman, Nicola Wren, Jim Barnes & Kit Buchan and Bella Barlow & AC Smith have been selected to partake in St. James RE:act at HighTide. Each person or duo will write a performance piece in just 24 hours in response to one of the four main HighTide shows, The Sugar Coated Bullets of the Bourgeoise, Girls, Pilgrims and In Fidelity.

Two of the new pieces created will be musicals. This will be the first time that new musical theatre writing has ever been performed at HighTide.

The actors performing the works are Mark Anderson (The Book of Mormon, The Toxic Avenger), Laurie Kynaston (BBC2's Cradle to Grave), Isabella Laughland (Black Mirror, Wonderlust), and Natalie Law (Murder Ballad, Beautiful Thing UK Tour). The directors are Alastair Knights and Lauren McGee.

Performances will take place in The Garage on Saturday 17 September at 10am and 3.30PM.

St. James Theatre will also present a series of cabaret events, St. James Theatre Cabaret Nights, in the JubiLee Hall on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 September, details of which are in the listings section.
