Paul Andrew Williams' new play TICKING will star THE GAME's Tom Hughes at Trafalgar Studios, beginning October 6, according to the Daily Mail. Apparently they met playing on the same pick-up football team in North London.

"I asked him to do a read through of my play," Williams told the Mail. The piece is "about what would happen if you had just one hour left to live" and centers on Hughes' character, who is waiting to be executed in a foreign prison.

"What would you choose to say to your family? All families have secrets," the playwright added. "What would be revealed? Certain actions by your family can influence your life."

Niamh Cusack and Anthony Head will take on the roles of the character's parents. David Michaels will play his lawyer.

Williams, who has written and directed the films LONDON TO BRIGHTON, THE COTTAGE, CHERRY TREE LANE, UNFINISHED SONG and more, said he will only take TICKING from the stage to the screen "if it doesn't bomb" in the theatre.

Hughes last appeared onstage in VERSAILLES at the Donmar last year. Among his film credits are THE INCIDENT, I AM SOLDIER and ABOUT TIME, as well as the TV miniseries THE GAME.
