The UK SUN has announced the news that 'AMY WINEHOUSE: The Musical' may be coming to a stage in the future. The star's brother Alex told the SUN that an all-singing, all-dancing production based on the singer's life would be a "fantastic way to celebrate her chart comeback."

Alex revealed that, "Amy is much better. I think one day there could be a musical of Amy's life.

"You just don't ever know how far things can go these days - look at all this talk of a Jade Goody musical." The show, according to the SUN would chart the rise and fall of the talented but troubled Winehouse, including her high-profile battle with drink and drugs. To read the report click here.

Amy Winehouse is an English singer and songwriter, known for her eclectic mix of various musical genres including R&B, soul, jazz, rock & roll, and ska.

Winehouse's 2003 debut album Frank was commercially and critically successful in her native Britain. It was nominated for the Mercury Prize. Her 2006 follow-up album Back to Black led to six Grammy Award nominations and five wins, tying the record for the most wins by a female artist in a single night, and made Winehouse the first British singer to win five Grammys, including three of the "Big Four": Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year. On 14 February 2007, she won a BRIT Award for Best British Female Artist; she had also been nominated for Best British Album. Winehouse has been credited as being an influence in the rise in popularity of female musicians and soul music.

Winehouse has received media attention apart from her singing. The singer's problems with drug and alcohol addiction, as well as self-destructive behaviour, have become regular tabloid news since 2007. In 2008, Winehouse faced a series of health complications that threatened both her career and her life.

Jade Goody was a former dental assistant who grew up in a poor London neighborhood, she gained fame in 2002 when she joined the cast of the UK version of the reality TV show Big Brother. She didn't win the show, but she did become a celebrity, earning fame through her post show appearances. She was diagnosed with cancer last summer, and the progress of her illness was followed by the tabloid press, to much criticism. She reportedly sold the photos from her wedding for more than $1 dollars, and her funeral was televised. Danny Hayward, her former business partner and friend, announced that he was working on a musical based on her life. The musical would be the latest in a series of projects launched since Goody's tragic death at the age of 27 years old.
