Following up on their sell-out debut success in February with ‘Seconds Out' and ‘The Benefit of Time', Organised Chaos Productions are returning to the Taurus Bar in April with another theatrical premiere .

‘Afternoon Tea' - that classic of peace and tranquillity! Nothing goes wrong over afternoon tea - at least until William and Abigail (played by Laurence Pickford and Julie Burrow) and Jean and Poppy (played by Celia Carron and Diane Rimmer) coincide in the same Tea Room.

Enjoying a "saucy" weekend away, it is slowly emerging that Abigail's expectation of wedding bells is as far away from William's ‘alternative' intentions as possible. Meanwhile Jean and Poppy are indulging in their favourite occupation of gossiping, a little about themselves, but more enticingly about almost anyone else. With a good moan about life thrown in for colour now and again, you can be sure the world will be put to rights by the time their tea is finished.

But while they all drink their Indian, and eat their Rich, Teas something sinister is happening in one of their homes, and Jean is about to find out who's been watching her - and it isn't the cat......

Organised Chaos Productions aims to find and nurture undiscovered and emerging talent in the North West, and provide platforms for this creativity by taking care of all the background technicalities. ‘Afternoon Tea' follows this tradition, being the first play to be staged for writer Lindsay Kernahan, who recently graduated from Chester University with an MA in Creative Writing.
The cast are all Manchester based, with growing lists of credits to their names, and all are working with Organised Chaos for the first time. Designer Alice Elizabeth Allen, and Stage Manager Mandi Barrett were both engaged with ‘Seconds Out', and Alice also designed ‘The Benefit of Time' but this hasn't stopped them coming back for more involvement this time.

Organised Chaos Productions, headed by Gayle Hare, Kirsty Fox and Mark Creamer, have extensive experience in Production, with credits in both film and theatre. Between them they have produced, managed, directed or performed at the Edinburgh and Buxton Festivals, the National Student Drama Festival, The Lowry, Studio Salford and the 24/7 festival. Their first productions in February at The Taurus Bar played to critical acclaim and sold-out notices. ‘Seconds Out' is currently being reprised at the Write Now Festival in Liverpool, and ‘The Benefit of Time' will shortly enjoy a short run at Smith's Restaurant, and will have further performances during the year.

The play will be presented at the Taurus Bar on Canal Street from the 22nd to 24th April, with an added matinee performance at 5pm on the 24th. Tickets are on sale through Quaytickets on 0843 208 0500 or at www.quaytickets.com
