The First Lady of British musical theatre is to release a new album celebrating her acclaimed career. "Elaine Paige Live- Celbrating a Life On Stage" will be released worldwide on iTunes on September 21. The tracks span across her life on the stage from her musical beginnings in Hair to the present day, as well as including amusing and enlightening anecdotes.

The winners of the Total Theatre Awards for this year have been announced. The awards were created to recognise developing contemporary theatre, with award categories which include Devised Performance, Emerging Artist/Company and Physical/Visual Theatre.

Little Gem at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival has won the Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award, the higest accolade that can be won at the festival. Little Gem, written by Irish playwright Elaine Murphy, shows a year in the life of three generations of women.

Jud Charlton has been cast in Brooklyn, Rose Martula's brutally entertaining new play, presented by Good Night Out. It runs at The c*ckTavern Theatre from September 8 to September 26.

Polska!, a 12-month celebration of Polish art and culture, is to take place, with the purpose of bringing UK and Polish communities closer together. The programme includes productions such as Gospells of Childhood, The Triptych and 4.48 Psychosis at the Baribican, The Table and Macbeth: Who is that Bloodied Man? at Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queen's and The Table at Canterbury Festival.

The forthcoming musical The Stripper, is to open at The Queen's Theatre before a short UK tour. Written and staring Richard O'Brien, the show is based on a pulp fiction novel by Carter Brown and tells the story of police Lieutenant Al Wheeler.
