Less Than Two Weeks Until Christmas In Leicester Square Opens

By: Oct. 30, 2017

Christmas in London will start in earnest in just two weeks, with Christmas in Leicester Square opening on 10th November with a unique programme of festive entertainment in the form of Cabaret at Christmas for the grown-ups and Kids at Christmas for the whole family, as well as a magical storytelling Santa's Grotto, a vibrant Winter Windows art installation by local schools, and a beautiful European Christmas Market with over 25 stalls encompassing a range of food drink and handmade gifts.

Kicking of Cabaret at Christmas is House of Burlesque (10 Nov) the sexiest Christmas spectacular in town by the genre-leading, boundary pushing, hell-raising masters of their craft.

Black Cat Cabaret (11 & 30 November) will then sashay into town, with a beautifully dark, theatrical Parisian extravaganza featuring an all-star cast of the world's finest cabaret, circus and burlesque performers including Lily La Scala, Dusty Limits, Joe Moss and Jess Love.

Four Femmes on the Thames' Winter Warmer (16 Nov) sees the 2016 Musical Comedy Award winners present a fantastically funny range of festive songs accompanied by their band The Hommes

Al Murray will then give the nation's favourite publican a Christmas makeover for a hilarious night of comedy and variety in The Pub Landlord's Festive Saloon (25 Nov) before one of the most multitalented and distinctive comics in the biz (and a goddam Hollywood star to boot) Rhys Darby swings into town for two shows in one day (26 Nov).

This glittering range of entertainment will go hand in hand with some fantastic performance for all the family, kicking off with Monski Mouse's Christmas Baby Disco Dance Hall which will introduce tots to some festive classic and get them dancing before they can walk. (11, 19 & 25 Nov)

Then Roald Dahl's Marvellous Medicine (26 Nov) will see Professor Tom Solomon use the celebrated author's tales to unlock the secrets of the human body.

Another hit with the kids, returning after huge success last year, is Santa's Grotto - open every day until Christmas Eve. This special North Pole experience will see Father Christmas himself (the real one!) regale kids with a special festive tale before hearing their Christmas wishes, having a photo with them, and giving them a special early Christmas present.

Winter Windows will also return - a unique exhibition in partnership with local schools which will see pupils design stained glass windows with the best being exhibited around the north and west perimeter of the Leicester Square site for thousands of passers-by to enjoy.

In addition to this amazing seasonal entertainment, London's iconic Leicester Square will be transformed into a wintery haven with a beautiful European-style Christmas Market with over 25 different stalls featuring a range of fascinating Christmas curios, sumptuous food and delicious drinks, all presented in partnership with Hilton Hotels and Resorts.

So, come one, come all, have a mulled wine and a pretzel, visit Santa, take in a show, and immerse yourself in a complete Christmas experience!
