LITTLE BRITAIN Star Matt Lucas Speaks Out On Ex-Partner's Suicide

'Little Britain' Star Matt Lucas, whose partner Kevin McGee committed suicide five months ago, has spoken out for the first time about the tragedy. McGee and Lucas had been together for six years, but things began to fall apart shortly after their marriage in 2006. The pair eventually divorced 10 months ago. In a story in the News of The World, Lucas says, "I've had three f****** terrible years in my personal life."

Of his relationship with McGee, Lucas reflects on their time together. "For a long time it was amazing." Lucas also notes the playful and turbulent nature of their relationship. "We were just so stupid...I am stupid. If I was ever going to end up with anyone they would have to be stupid."

"I will pull my pants up to my nipples. If I'm attractive, it's a by-product of stupidity. And I don't care. I don't give a f***."

"If I was looking, I would look for someone who can just tolerate. Someone who can just walk in when I've got a slice of cake on my head."

Lucas credits his 'Little Britain' comic partner David Williams for his support during the most heartbreaking moments of his personal life. Lucas says, "David's my soul mate. He's my brother, honestly. He's been there every step of the way. He's never, ever let me down, and I hope I've never him."

Matt Lucas is best known for his work with David Walliams in the television show Little Britain and spoof interview series Rock Profile, as well as for his portrayal of the surreal scorekeeping baby George Dawes in the Reeves and Mortimer comedy panel game Shooting Stars. In May 2007, Lucas was placed 8th in the list of the UK's 100 most influential gays and lesbians, in fields as diverse as entertainment, business, politics, and science, by the British newspapers The Independent and The Daily Mail.
