La Bohème On Sydney Harbour is part of Opera Australia's celebrated Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour series. Distinguished as one of the highlights of the Australian cultural calendar, Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour has attracted more than 250,000 attendees from around Australia and across the globe over the past six years, confirming the reputation of Sydney as one of the world's most dynamic and breathtakingly beautiful cities.

Captured live in April 2018 for a global cinema release, this production of Puccini's masterpiece was performed on a massive, purpose-built overwater stage located on the shoreline of Sydney Harbour, designed especially for the unique outdoor setting. Flurries of snow, cobblestone laneways, glowing street lamps and colourful costumes transformed Sydney Harbour into a wintery Paris of the 1960s - a brand new setting for this classic bohemian love story.

2018 marks 10 years of collaboration between Opera Australia and event cinema specialists CinemaLive, who have been bringing the Australian company's indoor and outdoor shows to the big screen since CinemaLive was founded in 2008.
