Jane Turner, perhaps better known as Kath in Australian sitcom Kath and Kim, makes her West End Debut in HOLDING THE MAN, starting in April.

Turner has written and starred as Kath Day-Knight in four series of the sitcom, and one feature length special. The show's outrageous characters, catchphrases and unique view on everyday life in Melbourne suburb Fountain Lakes made Kath and Kim an international cult hit.

Writer and actress Jane became a worldwide star after creating the role of Kath in the hit Australian comedy. Turner has also written for and starred in sketch shows Fast Forward, Full Frontal and Big Girl's Blouse. The characters Kath and Kim first appeared in Full Frontal, but it was their popularity in Turner, Riley and Szubanski's Big Girl's Blouse that triggered the foxy ladies' own show.

Tommy Murphy's HOLDING THE MAN will begin at Trafalgar Studios 1 on 3 April and is booking until 3 July. Based on Tim Conigrave's novel, HOLDING THE MAN tells the hilarious and touching true story of Conigrave's experiences as a gay teenager in an all male school in Melbourne. Things don't look promising when Tim develops a crush on football captain John Caleo, yet their relationship ended up lasting fifteen tempestuous years.

HOLDING THE MAN won numerous awards down under, and played four sell-out seasons in Sydney.

Jane Turner follows collaborators and co-stars Gina Riley and Magda Szubanski (best known as Kath and Kim's Kim and Sharon) to the stage. Riley recently played Mama Morton on the Australian touring production of Chicago. Szubanski received rave reviews as Big Jule in Guys and Dolls in Melbourne in 2008.
