Following sell-out seasons with Maria Friedman and Kerry Ellis in 2009, The Great British Songbook returns for 2010 with TV and West End star Jill Halfpenny taking to the stage at Wilton's Music Hall in Jill Halfpenny Celebrates the Great British Songbook for three performances only on Tuesday 28, Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 September 2010.

Jill Halfpenny, currently starring in the smash hit musical Legally Blonde at the SavoyTheatre, will perform the songs of Anthony Newley, Gary Barlow, Eric Clapton, TheBeautiful South, Richard O Brien, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, The Police, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice, Stiles & Drewe, Leslie Bricusse and many more.

Jill Halfpenny has previously starred in both Chicago and Calendar Girls in the West End, and is perhaps best known for her TV appearances in both the BBC's Strictly ComeDancing and Eastenders.

She will be joined by her limitlessly talented Legally Blonde co-star and generally swoonsome singer Chris Elllis-Stanton whose credits include TheBoyfriend (Regent's Park), Chicago and The Rocky Horror Show (International Tour).

Neil Marcus co-founded The Great British Songbook series with Hilary Williams. Just as The Great American Songbook and the French Chanson provide a wealth of wonderful material, there is a rich heritage of popular British song which takes in Classical Music, Music Hall, Wartime Songs, Musical Theatre, Pop, Folk, Rock and much more.

Few artists were championing The Great British Songbook until this unique cabaret series evolved. It has already showcased work by Purcell, Gilbert & Sullivan, Noel Coward, Gilbert OSullivan, Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber, The Beatles, John Barry, Don Black, Anthony Newley, Queen, Dave Stewart, Gary Barlow and many others as well as championing newwriters.

Each show is wonderfully eclectic and original as it represents the personalfavorites of each individual performing artist. Future shows in the Great British Songbookseries will include evenings with Haydn Gwynne and Hannah Waddingham.
