Adam Spreadbury-Maher and Berislav Juraic for Good Night Out Presents Edward Bond SEASON 14 September - 13 November 2010

Announcing the final shows in the Edward Bond Season THERE WILL BE MORE a new world premiere of Edward Bond play

directed by Adam Spreadbury-Maher
PRESS NIGHT: 29th October, 7:30pm

Post-show discussion with Edward Bond on Thursday, 28th October

The first London world premiere of Edward Bond play in decades is directed by Adam Spreadbury-Maher, artistic director of The King's Head and The c*ckTavern Theatres. Edward Bond is closely involved in the rehearsals for the newly commissioned play.

Edward Bond's new play is a harrowing portrait of a world gripped by endless war, and of the toll this takes on personal and social relationships. A heroine, Dea, has committed a terrible act and has been exiled; and when she meets someone from her past, she is forcefully confronted by the broken society that drove her to commit her crimes. The play simultaneously presents a forceful challenge to contemporary drama: examining its progress, its place and what it does for mankind.

"Anyone serious about English Theatre of the last half century should think twice about missing the remaining productions." Simon Thomas, What's On Stage
RED, BLACK AND IGNORANT

the first revival since 1984

directed by Maja Milatovic-Ovadia
PRESS NIGHT: 2nd November, 7:30pm
This first revival of Red, Black & Ignorant, first of Edward Bond's War Plays is directed by Maja-Milatovic-Ovadia, young Serbian director with permanent London address.

Depicting man and his decline into greed and despair, this is piece is chronicling scenes from the life of a never-born monster. Exploring issues of corruption and violence, this is a complicated tale, Bond's frightening vision leaving the audience "imagining the unimaginable", where cries for help go unheard and conflict eventually brutalises everything. A play that it is relevant today as much as it was in 1984 when it was done at the Barbican Pit by Royal Shakespeare Company.
THE FOOL - adding further dates

Due to popular demand, we are adding further performances of The Fool, directed by Edward Bond. These will be on Wednesday 20 October, Thursday 21 October at 8:00pm.
