Despite earlier rumors that Rafe Spall could be starring opposite his father, Timothy Spall, in Harold Pinter's THE CARETAKER at the Old Vic, The Daily Mail has just revealed Daniel Mays and George MacKay have boarded the production.

They will play 'Aston' and 'Mick' alongside Spall as 'Davies' when the show begins on March 29.

MacKay recently appeared in director Matthew Warchus's film PRIDE. The actor last took the stage at the Young Vic in AH, WILDERNESS! Aside from PRIDE, his film credits include the musical projects SUNSHINE ON LEITH and HUNKY DORY, HOW I LIVE NOW opposite Saoirse Ronan (who will soon appear on Broadway in THE CRUCIBLE), PRIVATE PEACEFUL, THE BOYS ARE BACK, DEFIANCE, THE THIEF LORD, and P.J. Hogan's 2003 adaptation of PETER PAN.

Mays has appeared onstage in LADYBIRD, MOTORTOWN, THE WINTERING and SCARBOROUGH at the Royal Court. Among his recent film credits are Spielberg's THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN, as well as MADE IN DAGENHAM, SHIFTY, HIPPIE HIPPIE SHAKE, THE BANK JOB, ATONEMENT and more.

Matthew Warchus will be helming THE CARETAKER this spring. The Old Vic's first season under Warchus is currently underway, featuring an eclectic programme ranging from a newly-adapted Ibsen classic starring Ralph Fiennes to the world premiere of a new musical, GROUNDHOG DAY, with new commissions and more.
