Broadway actress and celebrated impressionist Christine Pedi is to premiere her one woman tour-de-force, Great Dames, in London.

Great Dames will be at Jermyn Street Theatre from Tuesday June 2 - Sunday June 21. The press night is Wednesday June 3 at 8.00pm.

Great Dames is Pedi's tribute to the dolls, broads, babes, bombshells and icons who have inspired her career. With great affection, she conjures up the likes of Ethel Merman, Liza Minnelli, Barbra Streisand, Julie Andrews and many more, as well as singing classic tunes first popularised by many a great dame (real or imagined).

Her musical director and pianist is Matthew Ward, another "Forbidden Broadway" regular.

Christine Pedi won the 2008 New York Nightlife Award, Backstage Bistro Award, and received a MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) nomination for Great Dames. She was Drama?Desk nominated and won the Dramalogue Award as a star of the long-running satirical "Forbidden Broadway". She also starred in the London premiere of "Forbidden?Broadway" at Jermyn Street Theatre, later transferring to the Albery Theatre in the West End. Her long association with "Forbidden Broadway" also earned her an LA Ovation award and lots of frequent flyer miles, for productions in Tokyo, Singapore, South Africa, Australia, Los?Angeles and beyond.

On May 18th she will attend the MAC Award (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) having been nominated for her solo shows "Now I Have Everything:The Lyrics of Sheldon Harnick" and "Holly Jolly Christmas Folly".

She was most recently on Broadway in Eric Bogosians "Talk Radio", starring Liev Schrieber. Her Broadway debut was in the revival of "Little Me", starring Martin Short. Other stage credits include "The A Train Plays", "The 24 Hour Plays", Edith Wharton's "Xingu", "Dalliance in Vienna" at the American Theatre of Actors, Fanny Brice in "Hello Dolly!", Audrey in "Little Shop of Horrors", "A Broadway Diva Christmas" and Carlotta the Gypsy Cow (don't ask). Christine has performed with Marvin Hamlish and the Indianapolis Symphony as well as many other orchestras throughout the US and Canada, and has sung for President and Mrs Clinton (playing Hilary). On TV, fans of "The?Sopranos"?may recognise her as the dearly departed Mrs Bobby Baccala (he loved her so much he couldnt' defrost her ziti).

She plays showtunes and interviews theatre legends on her national radio program "The Broadway Breakfast, heard daily on SiriusXM radio in America.

Great Dames was captured live in performance at the Metropolitan Room in New York and is available on CD. Watch for her newest studio recording "Good To Mama" due out any minute now.
