Acclaimed children's theatre company, Oily Cart return to the Lyric Hammersmith to present Christmas Baking Time - a fantastic festive feast for the senses for 3-6 year olds.

Christmas Baking Time finds two playful bakers, played by Jumoke Oke and Griff Fender, sifting through magical flour storms, with mischievous doughy characters amidst shelves of baking ingredients and utensils. Griff and Jumoke, who play Baker Bun and Baker Bap, will be inviting all the young audience members to become bakers themselves.

Oily Cart is renowned and highly regarded for their interactive shows in which the young audience are encouraged to participate in the performance. Christmas Baking Time will involve lots of stirring, live music and opportunities for audience members, young and old to join in the fun, as the onstage oven fills the room with the smell of freshly baking bread.
Tim Webb, Oily Cart's Artistic Director, says:

"We're delighted to be back in the heart of West London again in the fantastic Lyric Hammersmith. Oily Cart is well known for encouraging our young audiences to get involved with our shows and Christmas Baking Time is no different. There will be lots of opportunities to smell the baking dough from our live onstage oven, feel the flour and see the sugar and salt sparkle as we make and bake our way through the story. And perhaps best of all everyone will go home with their own hot, freshly baked bun from the Oily Cart oven."

Serina Apaloo-Gordon, Lyric Hammersmith's Producer for Children & Families, says:

"It's great to have Oily Cart back at the Lyric Hammersmith with Christmas Baking Time. In addition to our popular Messy Play and Party Play workshops there will be lots of free activities in our foyer for families to get involved in during this festive season. Come along to a Family Sunday and join us for a big sing-along around our piano, when our Christmas Choir perform live with some festive tunes."
